Starting his own personal property inventory business, Rogerson Inventory LLC, was a decision that John Rogerson did not make overnight. His desire for entrepreneurship kept him busy researching and considering the many factors that goes into taking this huge step, especially when considering his obligations of full-time employee, husband, and father. Adding another “title” to his list was a major commitment for this Howell, New Jersey resident. A key life experience drew him to the asset inventory industry, as he witnessed much of the devastation left behind by Superstorm Sandy not only along the Jersey Shore, but also inland. Learning how an inventory would have helped many settle their insurance claims more quickly and more equitably encouraged John to pursue this as his business of choice.
Rogerson is a graduate of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, having earned his B.S. in Administration of Justice degree in 2003. He has a varied professional background, which includes 9 years as a public school Social Studies teacher with the New Brunswick Public School District and 13 years of military service with the New Jersey Air National Guard, currently holding the rank of Master Sergeant.
Serving as a Human Resources Specialist, he is responsible for overseeing 400 full-time personnel with a broad spectrum of employment and benefits support. His commitment to duty and performance has earned him such military awards as the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal for Hurricane Sandy. In addition to being full time active duty with the National Guard, Rogerson enjoys quality family time with his wife Christine and their two sons. He continues to serve as a baseball coach for Howell Central Little League and maintains an active exercise routine.
Aware that his professional and personal life keep him extremely busy, John was cautious when considering entrepreneurship. He knew that beginning a business from the ground up would be extremely time consuming. With a desire to start quickly and professionally, John knew he needed a mentor with industry knowledge to assist him. Rogerson’s teaching background serves him well as he focuses on educating homeowners and businesses on the importance of having a detailed and accurate inventory of their assets. He is an effective communicator, has strong managerial, and follow-through skills, as well as a high sense of integrity – all of which enable him to balance his home/work/entrepreneurship needs and fulfill all three exceptionally well. Additionally, John’s public and military experience provide him with skill sets in organization and attention to detail, both of which enable him to serve his home and business clients throughout New Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Southeastern New York with outstanding customer service.
John is certified by the National Inventory Certification Association as a Certified Inventory Specialist. Rogerson Inventory is insured and holds a Business Services Bond.
